Final School Report (a clarification)

Greetings:

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Chicago.

For those of you who have already decided to attend Chicago, we want to remind you that we will need a final copy of your college or university transcript.

Please request that your Registrar, Dean of Students, or Advisor forward your final transcript directly to the Office of College Admissions.

Send your transcript to us as soon as possible but certainly no later than July 15th. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Shaw at 773-702-8650.

Enjoy the summer months, and we shall see you in September.

I haven't gotten my admit packet yet!

We have been getting requests from admitted transfer students who have gotten their emailed decision, but not their admit packet.

If you have not gotten your admit packet yet, email Krystal at kmshaw@uchicago.edu with your request, and your current, correct address.

Everyone who would like an extension on the transfer reply date of June 15 should call Krystal at 773-702-8650.

Undergraduate Housing Opportunities

Greetings:

The Office of Undergraduate Student Housing would like to highlight for you two residence halls that are reserved exclusively for upperclass students and are great choices for entering students who already have experience on a college campus.

If your housing application is received by the Office of College Admissions by Friday, June 30th, and you request either Stony Island or Blackstone halls, you will have priority for an assignment in one of those two residence halls.

Please feel free to with any questions by emailing us at rooms@gosh.uchicago.edu

Congratulations to our RN admits!

Yesterday we sent emails to around 70 newly admitted students. If you're one of them, we have an announcement: Congratulations! And we have another announcement: since we were late in getting our decisions out, you have until June 15 to decide to enroll; not until June 1. If you have any questions, please email transfer@bobball.uchicago.edu

Early alternative applicants who were admitted also have until June 15, 2006 to reply.

Transcript Credit Evaluatons

Hi everyone:

These are in process.

John Laseman, Sr. Advisor in the College at Chicago, serves as the primary person for the evaluation of transfer credit and will be an important contact as you think through the transfer credit evaluation process. He's a terrific member of the College and will be there to answer your questions.

Wait to receive your credit evaluation before contacting him as this will only slow the process down, ie there's no need to email him and ask him where he is in the process.

I will speak to Andre' about any necessary extensions for those who are awaiting transfer evaluations and/or financial aid awards.

I'll post a message tomorrow regarding these extensions and how we'll handle them.

Good luck everyone....and welcome again.

Jerry
